Love at First Sight?

The main characters of Dragonflies at Night, singer/songwriter Ben and party planner Savannah, fall fast and hard for each other, pretty much immediately. They each know, on some level, that they are meant to be with each other.

While some people think that falling love at first sight (or almost first sight) isnā€™t a ā€œthing,ā€ I experienced it firsthand in 1991 when I met a handsome guy named Jeff on a blind date. We didnā€™t say ā€œI love youā€ for a few weeks , but both of us said later that we felt an instant familiarity and sense of ā€œhomeā€ with each other on that first meeting.

Four years later we married, but this relationship that began almost thirty years ago is still thriving and going strong, through rough seas as well as smooth. I wish the same for Ben and Savannah, as well as each of you who are reading this right now.

In fact, Ben and Savannah appear in my second women’s novel, Feathers in the Sand, which I am revising and editing right now. They actually play a brief but very important role in another couple’s love story, but that’s all I’m sayin’!

I hope you enjoy Dragonflies at Night as much as I enjoyed writing it, and I’ll let you know as soon as Feathers in the Sand is out there in the world! Meanwhile, here’s a few photos of Jeff and I . . . then . . .Ā  and now.

Spread the love
